Health and safety are top priorities, and we are regularly adapting our response as the situation changes. This page will give you the most current news on our operational status.

Last updated 10/07/2021.

Per Governor Inslee's latest Proclamation 20-25, and the Secretary of Health's Order 20-03.4 masks are now required for all persons entering the building. These regulations went into effect on 8/23/21.

Generally, we are working in the office Monday-Friday. We encourage you to contact us by phone or email instead of in-person visits, but we are still setting appointments on request. We are both fully vaccinated.

The building's outer doors are open from 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday.

Here is how to work with us during this time:

  • Delivering Files to Us:
    • Email: This is fine for documents without secure information, but please protect your data.
    • Secure Firm Portal: Please use your login at https://www.securefirmportal.com to safely send and receive files.
    • Postal Mail: Use our office address or PO Box.
    • Drop Off:  Please contact us ahead of time if you plan to come in. If we are not in the office, you may slide documents under our door. Envelopes are provided.
  • Meetings: please call us at (206)774-9192 to schedule an appointment.  For simplicity, we mainly use phone for meetings, but tools are available for screen sharing, remote control, and conferencing if needed. We'll send a link during the meeting if needed.
  • Receiving Files from Us:
    • Electronically: We will use email or the Secure Firm Portal to send information electronically in all cases.
    • Postal Mail: If you also wish documents to be mailed, please ask us.
    • Pick Up: Please contactus us if you prefer a pickup from our office.
  • Payment Methods: We continue to email invoices with links for online payment. Use your bank account or credit to pay instantly. You may also call the office to pay by phone or mail a check.

What about delays or extensions for the 2021 tax season? Individual tax filings were changed to a 5/17/21 due date, but there is no change to due dates for extensions. For those on extension, S corporations and partnerships are still due 9/15/21 and individuals 10/15/21.

The legal environment continues to be chaotic in 2021, and substantial delays in refunds and return processing are still to be expected. Based on our experiences, amended returns are taking upward of 9 months to process, mailed documents take 2 months or more, and the IRS is regularly sending letters that are in error. For example, we've seen more than a dozen balance due letters sent after full payment was already made.

Thank you for your continued trust as we manage this time together. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call or email.
